About Alexander Gartley
I help business owners see the real problem before they spend more money on the wrong fix.
I’m Alexander Gartley. I help small business owners get clear on what’s actually helping, what isn’t, and where to focus next. My background in brand and marketing leadership trained me to take scattered ideas, mixed signals, and competing priorities and turn them into clear direction.

What I help with
Finding the real bottleneck before more effort.
- Messaging that isn’t connecting
- Visibility that’s lower than it should be
- Reputation that isn’t building trust
- Action and follow-through that lose momentum
How I Think
The problem is usually easier to solve once it’s easier to see.
A lot of marketing frustration comes from trying to fix symptoms. More content. More ads. More ideas. More effort.
But if the real issue is unclear messaging, weak proof, low visibility, or a broken next step, more activity will not necessarily create better growth.
That is where I tend to be most useful: listening carefully, noticing patterns, simplifying the situation, and helping you decide what deserves attention first.
I’m based in Houston, TX, and work with businesses in Houston and beyond.
Experience
Years of brand and marketing leadership, applied to practical business problems.
I’ve spent years leading brand, messaging, campaigns, creative direction, and cross-channel marketing inside a mission-driven organization.
That work trained me to listen well, organize complexity, clarify priorities, and help teams move from scattered ideas to focused execution.
For small businesses, I bring that same kind of thinking into a simpler setting: What is helping? What is not? Where are customers getting stuck? What should happen next?
Brand and messaging
Clarifying what a business is trying to say and making it easier for customers to understand.
Campaign and content strategy
Connecting ideas, channels, and priorities so marketing feels less scattered.
Practical growth diagnosis
Looking for the constraint that is creating the most friction right now.
How I Diagnose Growth
Most growth problems show up in four places.
I usually start by looking for where effort is happening without enough clarity.
Messaging
What the business means to say — and what customers actually hear.
Visibility
How people find the business — and where discovery breaks down.
Reputation
What builds trust, or weakens it, once people find you.
Action
What happens next — and where momentum gets lost.
Why This Work Exists
Too many good businesses are solving the wrong problem.
I kept seeing business owners doing good work but struggling to connect that work to consistent growth. Often, the issue was not effort. It was that the real bottleneck had not been named clearly enough. This work exists to help fix that first.
Conversational, not performative
Practical, not abstract
Focused on real outcomes
Clear enough to act on
